At Good Earth Coffeehouse, we believe that every small, thoughtful decision can lead to a better world. Sustainability is woven into the fabric of our business from the coffee we source to the materials we use every day in our cafés. One of the quietest, yet most powerful, ways we’ve made a difference is by switching to 100% recycled napkins, tissue, and towels across all of our locations.
This choice might seem simple, but its impact is anything but small.
The Environmental Impact of Recycled Paper Products
By using only 100% recycled paper products, we’ve saved since 2008:
• 2,472,681 litres of water
• 214 cubic metres of landfill space
• 134,231 litres of oil
• 2,545 kilograms of air pollution
• 382,596 kilowatt-hours of energy
These numbers reflect the real, measurable benefits of choosing recycled over new materials. The production of recycled paper uses significantly less water and energy and produces fewer emissions and waste. It’s a small shift with a powerful ripple effect for the environment.
Why It Matters
Paper is one of the most used materials in the food and beverage industry and one of the most wasted. Traditional paper products require trees to be cut down, large amounts of water and oil to be consumed, and significant energy to be used in manufacturing. By choosing recycled alternatives, we’re reducing demand on natural resources, shrinking our carbon footprint, and helping keep waste out of landfills.
And it’s not just about numbers it’s about the bigger picture. Saving water means preserving one of the planet’s most precious resources. Using less oil reduces dependence on fossil fuels. Preventing air pollution and conserving energy helps fight climate change.
Every Choice Counts
At Good Earth, we know that sustainability isn’t one big action it’s the result of many small decisions, made thoughtfully and consistently. From your ceramic mug at the café to the recycled napkin you use with your pastry, we’re working to ensure that every part of your experience supports a more sustainable future.
We’re proud of the impact we’ve made so far and we’re not stopping here. Thank you for being part of the journey and for choosing coffee that’s not only good for you, but good for the Earth.
